Portal Game World – After a brief Open Beta phase, Riot Games has delighted fans by officially releasing Valorant on the Xbox Series X/S and PlayStation 5. Valorant Console is now accessible to players in the United States, Canada, Europe, Japan, and Brazil, offering what Riot Games describes as the “same precise, team-based, tactical shooter experience that PC players have enjoyed for years.”
Previously announced, cross-play between PC and console players will not be available. Riot Games aims to “preserve Valorant’s high standard of competitive integrity.” However, PlayStation and Xbox players will be able to play together.
Although this may disappoint some, Riot Games has assured fans that their Friends List, Collection (including Skins, Player Cards, Gun Buddies, etc.), Battle Pass progress, and Agent unlocks will be transferable. Additionally, both PC and console players will “receive simultaneous platform releases for all live patch updates, new agents, maps, premium content, and other live service features.”
Arnar Gylfason, production director of Valorant, stated, “We’ve gathered invaluable feedback from players during the Limited Beta and are confident in delivering on our gameplay promises for console players. Whether it’s landing the perfect shot, executing a flawless team strategy, or wiping out the enemy team, we are excited to see console players experience the same thrills as those on PC.”

Valorant remains free-to-play, and Xbox Game Pass members will have the advantage of having all current and future Agents unlocked. In our 2020 review of Valorant for PC, we stated, “Valorant is the most fun I’ve had with a multiplayer FPS since Valve’s Team Fortress 2. The combination of its magically-infused characters and a deep arsenal creates a fantastic competitive environment, though it may be challenging to master initially.
